An Army Central Fund grant of £23,000 enabled MAB 7 to transform part of a former bar area within Churchill Lines into a fully equipped snack preparation space. With limited public funding available for estate improvements, the project provided a practical way to improve day-to-day facilities for those working on site. The refurbished area includes space for microwaves, fridges and storage, allowing personnel to bring and prepare food from home in a clean and welcoming environment.
Serving a site used by more than 900 personnel and visitors, the new space offers a place to pause, connect and recharge during the working day. By improving the quality of communal facilities, the project supports wellbeing, strengthens a sense of shared environment and contributes to a more positive working experience. Once completed, the refurbishment will be incorporated into the existing maintenance contract, ensuring the space remains a sustainable asset for the unit.
